Meet our Owner.

Derek discovered his passion for working outdoors at a young age, growing up in the country where hands-on projects were part of everyday life. Over time, that passion evolved into a career in fencing, where he combines craftsmanship, precision, and a strong work ethic.

Today, Derek leads his company with a focus on quality, integrity, and dependable service, continually striving to build one of Ottawa’s most trusted fencing companies. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, pursuing his Faith, appreciating the outdoors and coaching his youngest son’s Ultimate Frisbee team.

What Clients are Saying.

  • My wife and I recently had our exterior stairs replaced by father and sons fencing solutions. We were very pleased with the results having used their services in the past and were pleased with the new fence installation. Derek and his crew were both professional and knowledgeable. This job was completed on time and budget , we will be using them in the future.

  • Our experience with FS Fencing was exceptional. They were professional, courteous, and flexible in working with other tradespeople. But most impressive was their workmanship. The yard, the fence and both decks are beautifully done with exquisite attention to detail.
